Description:
The Canine, a name inspired by the wolf-like tail shape of the pommel, is a massive five-and-a-half-foot-long sword from the tip of the blade to the pommel. It was forged using an impossibly rare metal called Adamantite, which is only found in certain monster dens, making literally anything crafted from it extremely rare and valuable.

Despite the weapon's massive size, Adamantite is a surprisingly lightweight metal, meaning the bulk of the weapon's weight comes from the steel the grip is made out of, allowing the wielder to comfortably use the sword single-handedly or with both hands for extra swinging power.
As the weapon had been crafted with the blue-tinted Adamantite variety, the blade itself has an impressive blue appearance that glistens in the sunlight.
Creation:
I had been trying to find "the sword" for Advrik for some time now. Something that, for me, would be instantly recognizable, unique and, at the same time, reflect the fact that the wielder was an anthropomorphic wolf. I knew right from the get-go that the blade itself needed to be blue. I own a cheap sword with a wolf motif that has a blue blade, and it looks pretty snazzy. And while he had been initially written to wield a similar sword in a few episodes already, the idea of my main character swinging around something he got on Temu was ridiculous.

Canine was initially designed as a katana of swords, but the more I thought about it, the less I liked the idea. Because of characters like Sephiroth, my brain is hardwired to view them as the "villain weapon" despite Crono, another favorite character of mine, wielding one. Then, once I thought a little bit harder, the fact that Last Tail is directly inspired by Final Fantasy VII, I came to the conclusion that giving the wolf guy a big double-edged sword that's nearly as long as he is tall AND can be wielded with one or two hands was the way to go--the latter part working perfectly with Advrik's two primary stances, one focusing on speed and the other on power.
As of the time of this post, Canine hasn't been introduced in Last Tail, but it's close to happening.
