My Return to Star Wars

In my youth I was a Star Wars fanatic. I watched the original trilogy all the time, along with the two Ewok films that I recorded one Saturday morning in the mid 90s (hey I loved those movies and still do!). I played wherever game I could get my hands on and had several figures, from the characters themselves and their ships, both in a larger scale and in the MicroMachine form.

But then the late 90s happened, and the prequel trilogy came about and then things changed forever.

By the time Episode 2: Clone Wars came out, I felt that I had fallen out of the series. The movie, at least at the time, felt like a complete bore to me in the same way that Empire Strikes Back did (spoiler: I greatly appreciate and enjoy both films nowadays!)

And then when the Disney acquisition happened, and they vomited out the sequel trilogy I completely fell out with the series. Like completely. Wanted nothing to do with the series after that.

But then Mandalorian happened and reminded me of the magic the series could evoke when in the right hands.

Thus began my glorious return to the galaxy far, far away.

That was what provoked me to buy the novelization of the original trilogy. And then Shadows of the Empire, then the original Thrawn Trilogy. As well as blu-ray sets of the prequel and original trilogies. Oh and a Mando figure.

I have since played Jedi Fallen Order and enjoyed it immensely

I am currently making my way through the Return of the Jedi novelization and enjoying, especially coming of Shadows having an idea of what happened between episodes 5 and 6.
